Description
A scarce, original, and very large French theatre poster for ‘La Hussarde’ (‘The Hussar’), a 1925 operatta written by Henry de Gorsse, Victor Darlay and Georges Nanteuil, with music by Flix Fourdrain. The poster, with its striking graphic redolent of times gone by, was created by French painter and poster designer Louis Denis-Valvrane (1870-1943).
The poster features Denis-Valvrane’s facsimile signature and monogrammatic ‘LD’ stamp for his studio at 10 Rue Lon Delhomme, Paris.
