Description
Study of faces is an original old master artwork realized by Stefano Della bella in 17th Century. Black and white etching. The etching is divided in 2 panes, the measures of them from the top are: 8 x 8 cm and 2 x 12 cm Includes frame. Some foxings due to the time. Stefano Della Bella (17 May 1610 12 July 1664) was an Italian draughtsman and printmaker known for etchings of a great variety of subjects. Returning to Florence in 1650, he resumed working under the protection of the Medici court, working for his patrons; he creates title pages, illustrations of feasts and views that enhance the Medici splendors. In 1656 he became a member of the Apatistas’ Academy. Stefano Della Bella has left us over a thousand engravings.
