Description
Fantastic modernist set of three tripod nesting tables. Rare Dutch design from the fifties; this set is pictured in the 1959 ‘Goed Wonen’ decorative magazine. It was produced for only a short time by Devo n.v. ( Coen de Vries ). Black steel rod grasshopper stand, multilayered wood / formica top ( off-red, grey and black ). The set evokes the spirit of the modern art movements of that time and the optimistic design is clearly inspired by the work of Joan Miro, Alexander Calder and would be a great addition with other Dutch fifties pieces e.g. Cees Braakman, Wim Rietveld and Pilastro.
