Description
Maternit is an original etching realized by Gabriele Girardi, in 1971. Good conditions, except for some small tears to the borders due to the passing of time. Signed and numbered (XII/XXV) on plate on the lower right by the artist. Gabriel Girardi (Turin, 1938) Son of Nardo Girardi, known painter of the group ”Decalage”, Gabriel Girardi is a skilled draftsman. In the fifties he was called to portrait of Queen Elizabeth II of England. Currently his artwork is held in Kensington Palace, a property of the princess Alessandra di Kent and reflects that spontaneity, constructive firmness and drawing energy, typical costants in his production. From 1959 to 1961 he devoted himself to sacred art, without leaving out profane themes. An exciting and very valid experience will then be the one in direct contact with nature, in an island of nudists: rejoining the best Italian tradition.
