Description
We found this expressionistic portrait in France. It was sold to us as French but as the painting is not signed it is hard to date or place a country of origin to it. It was named “L’Homme Vert” by the seller which basically translates to “the Green Man” but we believe he may have made that up. We also think that turquoise was also well suited and a few of us think he’s a ballet danser, so wen named him: The Turquoise Ballet Dancer. According to the seller it was from the 60s but again….who’s to say. We absolutely fell in love with him and dare we say it has a little Lucien Freud-esque quality to it ; ) It is painted on cardboard as you can see from the back with thick brush strokes.
