Description
This is a handsome antique oak davenport desk which dates to the Victorian era.
It is a distinctive looking piece which is perfect for use in an office or home study.
The davenport is solid, well made and heavy and will make a nice alternative to a traditional desk. The top is fitted with a sloping lid inset with a piece of tooled green leather and to the back is a small decorative back plate.
The left hand side of the davenport is fitted with four spacious drawers ornately carved with green man masks which form the handles. The opposing side has four dummy drawers.
The sloping top is supported by flanking barley twist supports.
The wood has a natural looking waxed finish.
CONDITION
The davenport is in solid structural condition with small cosmetic marks and wear to the finish commensurate with age and use.
The leather shows signs of use and the lid lock no longer works as the keeper has been removed.
