Description
An unusual designed and exceptionally well made Arts & Crafts library steps chair, Netherlands, around 1910.
with a minimalistic appearance seen from the back, front and side, when it’s placed in an angle it shows the well made construction to fold it into srturdy and still operational library steps. The chair is quite modestly sized with only 35 cm (13,7 inch) depth and can easily fit in in even a small space.
The somewhat Gothic-style spikes in the backrest and the beautiful woodgrain in the oak are some of the assets that make this chair stand out. It would fit in many interior styles as an accent piece. Because it’s so well made, there is little movement and and it can still be used as actual steps. The hinges and the hooks to secure the chair in the selected position are all in place and good order.
