Description
Standing ashtray manufactured by Metawa in the Netherlands, 1930s (signed).
It is characterized by a nice, solid workmanship, a timeless form – Bauhaus, Art Deco.
Made of: very thick cast iron base – thanks to which the ashtray is very stable
(weight 4.7kg), base protection and the lower part of the ashtray are made of chrome-plated brass.
Therefore, it has a slightly warmer shade than the covering element, which is made of chrome-plated metal.
The ashtray has a rotating mechanism that is functional and works nicely.
Condition: good – very good, has local patina, slight abrasions, scratches.
It has been refreshed, chrome delicately polished. It looks nice, atmospheric.
