Description
Very nice ewer, carafe from the early 20th century. The body is made of smooth glass while the foot, handle and spout are made of pewter, a very rare element and one of the oldest known at least since antiquity. The handle is graceful with a vegetal motif, like an inspiration of the Louis 15 style. On the back of the spout, at the level of the handle, is engraved a hallmark “JG” overhung by a crown.
