Description
Sculpture after Hippolyte Franois Moreau (1832-1926), a French artist known for his work, who exhibited at the Salon des Artistes and won a medal at the Universal Exhibitions of 1878 and 1900.
This patinated regula print entitled “End of Day” depicts a young peasant woman dressed in traditional clothing and wearing a headscarf. Her benevolent face is turned towards the sky and she is smiling. In her left hand she holds her pitchfork and in her right hand she is holding plants in her dress.
This bucolic work is signed “F.Moreau” and bears the stamp “Fabrication Franaise Paris” from this foundry specializing in the reproduction of sculptures in regula and bronze, from 1892 to the First World War.
Positioned on a circular wooden base, this graceful print will delight lovers of poetic and harmonious works.
