Original Bamileke Stool from the mid 20th century. This specimen is a handcrafted one-off and was carved from a single block of wood. The spider motif has a special meaning in African Cameroon, because the ground spider living there lives underground and is believed to be closer to the ancestors than we humans. Shown in this stool or side table, the motif can be found as a pattern in the basic structure. The vintage design object is in its original condition and may show signs of wear.
