Description
The famous coffee chair is still considered the most successful industrial product in the world; in fact, it is with it that the history of modern furniture begins. Its production is based on a completely new technique at the time, the bending of solid wood. Another ingenious idea contributed to the sales success: Thonet managed to ship the model all over the world by storing 36 dismantled chairs to be assembled on site in a one cubic meter crate. The four-legged bentwood frame features a knot on the front right leg, while the seat is made of rattan cane. This particular version features a knot on the front leg, to pay homage to the original design on the occasion of the anniversary of its invention.
