Description
This Alky model chairman was created by Giancarlo Piretti for the famous Castelli publishing house. This Italian designer studied at the Instituto Statale d’Arte before starting his career at Anonima Castelli. For more than two decades, he created different ranges of furniture, among which his chair folded his Alky or Dorsal chair, which have become iconic design parts. His creations are both functional and aesthetic and have been widely recognized around the world of design. “Alky” is typical of the design of the 1970s, it is part of the Space Age universe. This movement was born in the 60s in response to space race and is characterized by the use of organic forms, new materials to create a utopian futuristic aesthetic. He has influenced many areas, from fashion to architecture and popular culture.
This driver is designed with a solid aluminum frame, covered with polyurethane foam. It is based on a metal base which ensures good stability. Its coating is made of khaki vegan fabric.
In very good condition, entirely retapped in our workshop.
