Description
The Peill + Putzler Patmos hanging lamp comes in many different shapes and sizes. Crockery was also made in this type of glass. The lamp is made of Matt Glass with clear dots. This hanging lamp received an iF Design Award in 1971. The Peill + Putzler Patmos pendant lamp was also sold by Raak Lichtarchitecture, the Netherlands. It is in catalog 6 from 1964. The American Prescolite also sold the model. About manufacturer Peill + Putzler Glashttenwerk Peill und Sohn was founded in 1903 in Dren, a small town in (West) Germany. Peill und Sohn merged with Putzler (founded in 1869) in 1947 as a glassblowing and lighting company and became Peill + Putzler Glashttenwerke. The company collaborated extensively with designers such as Wilhelm Wagenfeld, William Brown, Helmut Demary, Aloys Ferdinand Gangkofner, Horst Tselmann and several others. In the 1950s the company employed 1,500 people. They also produced glass parts and complete lamps for other companies in Europe, such as Raak from the Netherlands, Massive from Belgium and many others.
