Description
Duo of figures in regula with a medallion patina by Auguste Moreau (1834-1917), a renowned French sculptor who received numerous awards for his exceptional art bronzes.
This scene represents two chubby cherubs each sitting on a fluted column, decorated with ivy leaves. A young boy named “the carefree one” rests his head on his hand, which he turns toward his neighbor, and holds a pan flute in the other. The girl, named “the dreamer”, also turns her head to her side, her pretty face highlighted by her wavy hair, topped with a ribbon.
Each of these sculptures rests on a base of pink marble from Trets and has a name cartouche on the front.
The artist offers us a charming scene highlighting the sweetness and beauty of youth.
