Description
Original Heiberg Table Lamp White Opaline Glass & Brass Fittings
This is a beautiful example of an original Heiberg table lamp, an elegant antique piece with a rich history. The lamps name derives from an 1830s painting by Wilhelm Marstrand, which depicts the Heiberg family gathered around a table, illuminated by an early oil lamp of a similar design. Originally an oil lamp, this piece was converted into an electric table lamp sometime between 1950 and 1970. The lamp features a twelve-sided base crafted from off-white opaline glass, complemented by brass fittings. Over time, Heiberg table lamps have been produced in both white glazed porcelain and opaline glass, depending on the manufacturer and period. The specific material of an individual lamp depends on its production details.
