Description
French set of six faience plates, made in the manufacture of “Creil et Montereau” in the late 19th century. This faience is called “Terre de fer”. It is a name that appears in the 1770s. The Iron Earth is a fine earthenware made whiter and more resistant thanks to the addition of feldspar (a mineral compound) and kaolin (white clay). Generally the faience “Terre de fer” are monochromes but this set is polychrome. Six plates with Chinese decoration at the Pagoda. Good condition. Dimension: 20/20/6 cm.
