Description

Gardener vase, vitrified ceramic centrepiece, made of lathe-worked clay, majolica glazed and completely decorated by hand. Made and signed in turquoise under the base by the famous Italian manufacturer of Molaroni, Pesaro. The brush tip decorations on the vase are valuable, one slightly different from the other, and finally the two side masks are beautiful, reminiscent of the Renaissance style vases of the past.

Information on the artist and/or manufacturer:
Vincenzo Molaroni took over the “Benucci e Latti” factory in Pesaro in 1880, already active since 1814, where he had started learning the art of ceramics at a very young age. The factory produces works of great formal and technical quality, of classic taste and Renaissance inspiration but also some highly innovative works. Numerous artists of great value work in the factory. In 1912, upon the death of Vincenzo, the ownership of the factory passed to his sons Francesco, Eliseo and Telesforo and his brother Giuseppe and, under the guidance of Francesco, the factory continued to produce high quality majolica, marked “Molaroni-Pesaro” in blue, as on our centerpiece (brand used from 1908 to 1920). The success of the factory continues to grow over the years, becoming a point of reference for many artists, the factory is still operating, boasts numerous auction results and is known internationally for the quality and beauty of its artistic ceramics.
