Description

This elegant raspberry red ceramic planter is designed by Blanche Letalle for Saint-Clment. In ceramic, it evokes a basket made of intertwined wicker strands, all in an Art Deco aesthetic, faithful to the ceramist’s proposals. The object is particularly decorative, delicate and will be perfect for adding a colorful touch to the green plants in the house.

The raspberry red ceramic planter is beautifully made. Some slight traces of friction are visible as well as discreet lack of enamel on the collar. The piece bears the signature of Blanche Letalle.

13-24cm in diameter, 19cm in height.

In the wind of modernity that drives the 50s and 60s, potters and ceramists are not left out! They invent and reinvent the shapes of terracotta objects, playing with the composition of the enamels to obtain new colors or textures. The Lorraine earthenware of Saint Clment is linked to that of Lunville. In Lunville, fine earthenware is produced, often common and classic, services and patterned plates. Meanwhile, Saint Clment invents shapes and colors. In the second half of the 20th century, Jacques Roux and Blanche Lettale explored the stylistic possibilities of earthenware. In a spare and innovative style, the latter will offer vases with organic shapes, often with monochrome or two-tone enamels.
