An aluminium and cast brass ashtray designed by David Marshall, circa 1970-80s.
Demonstrating the sculptor’s signature use of contrasting metals. The underside has a leather base with the imprinted maker’s mark.
Showing age related wear to the finish.
The Scottish sculptor opened a workshop in Southern Spain in the late 1960s, where he began creating his original designs and sculptures which replicated nature while combining modern technology as a creative contrast.
